Based on the outlandish, true chronicles of David Sedaris’ experience as an elf in Macy’s Santaland, this cult classic riffs on Sedaris’ truly odd encounters with his fellow man during the height of the holiday crunch. NPR humorist and best-selling author of When You Are Engulfed in Flames, Me Talk Pretty One Day and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humorists.
Joe Brack has performed The Santaland Diaries for several years in Washington, DC under the direction of Matty Griffiths. Each year they explore this rich, true life text to find a fresh take on this off beat holiday classic. They let the audience draw on vivid memories – from childhood to that day’s trip to the shopping mall – while the story winds it’s way deeper behind the scenes. Come see what it takes to juggle tots and tottering Santas during the most festive time of the year. A laugh ’til you cry evening of merrily subversive entertainment!
All seats are general admission. The box office opens an hour before show time – we encourage our audiences to arrive with enough time to check in, grab a drink and choose the best available seats. We also encourage the use of public transportation to get to the show – the theater is 3 blocks from both the Mt. Vernon/Convention Center station on the Metro’s yellow/green lines or the Gallery Place/Chinatown station on the red line and within blocks of many Metro bus lines or the Union Station/Georgetown Circulator line. If driving, there are several pay-to-park lots with a block of the theater and on street parking in the neighborhood (be sure to obey parking signs and restrictions).
]]>All Tickets are $15 each!
Please bring cash to the performance or purchase online here.
If, when making your performance date selection, the date you are hoping to attend does not appear, that performance is “sold-out”. That does mean all seats have been sold or reserved for that performance, however, first-come/first-served standing room tickets will be sold at the theater beginning one hour before showtime. Standing room tickets are $10 each and may only be purchased at the door for cash. We do not have the ability to process credit cards on-site.
For questions about your reservation, please email us at tickets@cityartisticpartnerships.org. Thank you!

At the hub of the holiday madness is an automated talking teddy bear, voiced by a hapless actor trapped in a festive gift box.

Encore! ENCORE!
Four fantastic shows, back for command performances after a hugely successful time at the Fringe.
But Love Is My Middle Name
Emily Love Morrison returns with her wildly popular comedy about the tragedy of her love life. She thought finding love would be easy; after all, it’s her middle name. But does she find her man or something else entirely?
Flyboy
A near-future astronaut is offered the opportunity of a lifetime: a one-man mission to a distant star. Like any chance at immortality, though, this one comes with a catch; he will be taken away from family, friends, and all of human civilization for the next forty years.
The Bird
In search of adventure in Poland 1989, a young man discovers a female assassin, a Jewish skinhead, a mysterious bird, and the end of innocence. John Feffer plays seven characters in this one-man show, with an assist from the bird.
Cabaret XXX: Les Femmes Fatales
BEST Musical – 2011 Pick of Fringe Audience Awards
Come again! For those of you who haven’t seen it (naughty, naughty), we’ll be doing the whole show. For those of you who have seen it but want more, we’ll throw in some extra little surprises. What surprises you ask? You’ll have to come find out, sucka.
