Many performances are selling out! Grab your seats to remaining shows before they go.

Based on the outlandish, true chronicles of David Sedaris’ experience as an elf in Macy’s Santaland, this cult classic riffs on Sedaris’ truly odd encounters with his fellow man during the height of the holiday crunch. NPR humorist and best-selling author of When You Are Engulfed in Flames, Me Talk Pretty One Day and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humorists.

Joe Brack has performed The Santaland Diaries for several years in Washington, DC under the direction of Matty Griffiths. Each year they explore this rich, true life text to find a fresh take on this off beat holiday classic. They let the audience draw on vivid memories – from childhood to that day’s trip to the shopping mall – while the story winds it’s way deeper behind the scenes. Come see what it takes to juggle tots and tottering Santas during the most festive time of the year. A laugh ’til you cry evening of merrily subversive entertainment!

All seats are general admission. The box office opens an hour before show time – we encourage our audiences to arrive with enough time to check in, grab a drink and choose the best available seats. We also encourage the use of public transportation to get to the show – the theater is 3 blocks from both the Mt. Vernon/Convention Center station on the Metro’s yellow/green lines or the Gallery Place/Chinatown station on the red line and within blocks of many Metro bus lines or the Union Station/Georgetown Circulator line. If driving, there are several pay-to-park lots with a block of the theater and on street parking in the neighborhood (be sure to obey parking signs and restrictions).

From December 18th—22nd, 2008, CAP presented:

THE MALL, THE MERRIER, a holiday cabaret at the Warehouse Theater!

As the song suggests, it’s the most wonderful time of the year and this cabaret is out to prove it. Barbara Papendorp, Elver Ariza and Scott Sedar bring to life the denizens of a holiday shopping mall. At the hub of the holiday madness is an automated talking teddy bear, voiced by a hapless actor trapped in a festive gift box.

The Bird
